There comes an inflection point in every artist’s career when a monumental choice is made. Do you follow where your heart and creative flow is taking you or do you stick with what you know? For producer Luke Alan, the decision is now confirmed. Please welcome to the dance music world, Evan Iff. Less an alias per se than a fresh musical direction, Luke now branches out under this new moniker to gravitate back to the grooves that made him fall in love in the first place: raw, emotional, no rules, house music stretching across sub-genres from deep to soulful to techno, all with a dash of that classic house music flavor.
Based in the City of Angels, Luke has been producing for four years now with his good friend Neil G as Left Minded . Together they have explored the realms of deep and techy house music with releases on critically acclaimed labels such as Paper Recordings, i! Records, Deso, BulletDodge and have played with artists such as Maya Jane Coles, Derrick Carter, and Pezzner in the DJ booth, just to name a few. Does this new journey mark the end of Left Minded? No, but Luke embraces the challenge of finding himself back at square one as Evan Iff . Already, three releases are scheduled on his mainstay label, Something Different with remixes from fellow friends Moodymanc, Matches and Malin Genie, as well as upcoming digital and vinyl releases on Nathan G’s Luvbg, i! Records, and (of course) Large Music.
